Become a Member
We welcome community membership. Members receive our quarterly newsletter, invitations to special events and free entry to our end of year celebration. Members can also nominate to become a member of the Centre’s Management Committee. We are always keen for participation from the community to reflect the needs of the community of which we are a part. Membership is $2 a year.
Volunteer
Our volunteers tell us they find their work satisfying and enjoy making a difference in their local community. We aim to make volunteering rewarding by matching volunteers to roles that meet their needs and interests, providing the support and training they need to do their job, and recognising and celebrating achievements.
People volunteer at Maranoa Heights Community Centre for many reasons. Some of our volunteers say they like using their skills and experience to give back to the community or to help people in need. Others enjoy learning new skills, meeting new people in their community, and building friendships. Some volunteers want to increase their employability or get work experience.

Volunteer Vacancies
Maintenance Coordinator: we have an opportunity for an experienced and interested person to help us out with our maintenance and some odd jobs at the Centre. You will advise Centre staff and volunteers, plan and organise working bees. The time commitment for this role can be flexible.
Newsletter distribution: we need several volunteers to help out once every three months to deliver our newsletters to businesses and services in Kingston and surrounding areas.
Fundraising Leader: you will plan and lead fundraising events for Centre programs and other causes we support (e.g. Australian and international charities).
Gardeners: Help us make our gardens grow! We need gardeners .. beginners to expert are all welcome to help us grow vegetables and create a beautiful and welcoming garden for all.
